The Costa del Sol is internationally famous partly due to Malaga, as this beautiful city has many to things to offer to the visitors, although the rest of the province is very attractive too.. It is very strange to find so many villages in such a small area with so many historical vestiges, from Pre-History and several different ancient civilizations; not to forget the beautiful landscapes and the hospitable environment of the Costa del Sol. This is the region of Malaga, a pearl of the Mediterranean that, wherever you go, it deserves to be visited and will surprise the visitor

Puerto Banus

Torremolinos
is the biggest of the Costa del Sol resorts and probably its most famous.
The temperatures often soaring into the 30oC's & 40oC's (85- over 100 F).
There are plenty of beach front cafés (called Chiringuitos) selling fried fish, snacks and refreshments, which is just as well as the walk back from the main beach into the town centre is uphill all the way.
There are bars in abundance proclaiming their heritage to one nationality of another; Irish, English, Dutch, German you name it Torremolinos is likely to have it. The busy nightclubs pump out the latest music and stay open until dawn or even later. Make no mistakes Torremolinos is about having fun.
.

Benalmadena This village, which is situated 2,41 km above sea level and only 2 km from the coast, is set on a plateau forming a huge balcony over the Mediterranean. It´s located to the west of Málaga and Torremolinos.

The new Puerto Marina is the place to go for young "party goers". Popular with locals and tourists alike the place has a distinctly international feel to it. The area is crammed with a variety of nightclubs and bars playing the latest music and staying open until sunrise

Fuengirola
is just twenty minutes from Malaga airport, while the local train station provides easy access to such popular nearby resorts as Torreblanca, Arroyo de la Miel and Torremolinos.
Fuengirola is probably most famous for its five miles of sandy beaches, flanked by high-rise hotels and residential blocks of apartments with magnificent views of the Mediterranean and sweeping coastline.
A recent landscaping drive by the local municipality has resulted in a wider promenade and plenty of palm trees, interspersed with colourful flower beds and additional seating.
Boliches - Gaviotas and Torreblanca hold a European blue flag.

Puerto Banús is located just west of Marbella, before you reach the small town of San Pedro de Alcantara.
This is the place to be pampered yacht side and ogle those fabulous luxury yachts while sipping a drink at one of the many open air restaurants and bars. The setting is close to ideal, with its impressive mountain backdrop and ocean views.

Since its inception some forty years ago, the port has steadily grown and now features a casino, commercial shopping centre, a Corte Ingles department store, marine observatory and a multi cinema with films shown with their original soundtrack.
Nightlife buzzes at Puerto Banus with your choice of alfresco bars, piano clubs and discos while during the day this is a window shopper's dream with several of the world renowned fashions houses featured here, in addition to small, interesting shops and boutiques.

If you really want to have a bird's eye view of the port's magnificent position, then regular boat trips are the ideal solution and available on a regular basis from the central promenade. The beach adjacent to Puerto Banus holds a European blue flag.

Every Saturday morning at Puerto Banus by the bullring is a very popular street market where you can pick up all sorts of bargains.

Marbella, Marbella is the choice of the rich and famous. The resort is large and stylish, with around 28km of beaches. While the main towns sea-front promenade offers little from the other Costa del Sol resorts the famous Puerto Banús is high-class and high-price-tag. This is where the elite classes and would-be famous are to be found. The area is lined with designer boutiques and elegant restaurants - not to mention where some of the world's most expensive yachts are moored. Local celebrities include King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, Sean Connery, who lives in the town most of the year, and Melanie Griffith & Antonio Banderas (who originally came from Malaga) have a villa here.

The town's local mayor is also a celebrity for his infamy. His ongoing battle with the law over embezzlement, property fraud and a whole host of other charges has become part of everyday Marbella life. Whatever your opinions of him and his politics, the tourists have returned to Marbella and the emphasis is on providing high quality service and a chic cosmopolitan resort.
The old town of Marbella is still characterized by small winding streets and you can enjoy strolling around the café lined Plaza de los Naranjos and forget the hustle and bustle of the main town with its hotels, marinas and busy roads.
