Model 597™ Magnum Features Bolt-guidance system features twin, tool-steel guide rails. Sear and hammer are Teflon®/nickel-plated for crisp, smooth trigger pull. Patented drop-out staggered-stack, detachable, 8-shot metal box magazine. Last-shot "hold open" bolt for added safety. Unique attachment system rigidly joins barrel to receiver for perfect alignment and enhanced accuracy.

The family of Model 597 rifles, when introduced in 1997, revolutionized rimfire technology with an innovative bolt guidance system, featuring a unique set of twin tool-steel guide rails. This design results in better stability, feeding reliability and superior accuracy. And for smooth, dependable operation, the bolt, hammer and sear are coated with a Teflon®/nickel plating.

Model 597 Magnum rimfire rifles feature a stagger-stacked eight round capacity, die cast metal magazine with an innovative last shot "hold open" design. Receivers are grooved for standard rimfire mounts and drilled and tapped for Weaver-style bases.

Featuring a sturdy, matte black synthetic stock with swivel studs and 20-inch sporter contour barrel with satin blued finish, the Model 597 Magnum Synthetic autoloading rimfire is designed for the rigors of high-volume shooting. The clean barrel is button rifled with a twist rate of one turn in 9 inches with six lands and grooves.
